PolyMirae CEO Martino Gabellich delivered a keynote speech at the Asia Pacific Responsible Care Conference, held on November 7 and 8 in Seoul, South Korea. The Conference has been hosted this year by the Korean Responsible Care Council.

He said “Responsible Care has offered a unified and successful approach to several issues and has allowed the industry to make significant advances since its launch and to establish a continuous improvement culture. It can help our industry also in the future, to share and adopt best practices, beyond the legislative and compliance base line. I believe Responsible Care, as a voluntary and proactive initiative, can also help to achieve some of the UN Sustainable Development GOALS, for the benefit of all of us and of our next generations”.

The Conference was attended by more than 250 industry members and featured over thirty speakers and numerous interactive panel discussions.

PolyMirae held the 2nd Best Supplier Award event on 6th November, after the first event held in 2016.

Eight suppliers  have been selected this year, within the categories raw materials & feedstocks , chemicals & additives, packaging,

equipments and services, considering for the evaluation of their performance the period from 2016 to 2018.

Through this event, PolyMirae management and employees, express recognition to suppliers who have provided high quality products and services,

have contributed to the company’s innovation and growth projects and as well have demonstrated a strong partnership along all the considered period .

A groundbreaking ceremony for UPP (Ulsan PP Co.) new plant was held in Ulsan on October 22nd,2019.
Local authorities and guests from the different stakeholder companies participated in this ceremony, such as Song Cheol Ho (Ulsan Mayor), Hwang Se-young (Chairman of Ulsan metropolitan council), Jeon Young-do (President of Ulsan KCCI), Kim Sang-Woo (Vice Chairman of DIC), Yoon Byung-Suk (President of SK Gas), Fahad Al Matrafi (CEO of Advanced Petrochemical ), Jean Gadbois (Senior vice president of LyondellBasell), Kim Chul-Jin (CEO SK Advanced) and Martino Gabellich (President and CEO of PolyMirae).
“This groundbreaking ceremony is a very meaningful moment for UPP, and we want to make a positive contribution to the economy of Ulsan, including Ulsan new port, by increasing employment of local communities and activating related business”, Joseph Hoinkis (CEO of UPP) said.
UPP, a JV between PolyMirae and SK Advanced, is building a new 400.000 t/y PP plant, with start-up planned for May 2021.

PolyMirae will attend VietnamPlas 2019 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam from October 3 to 6 to promote PolyMirae's differentiated and advanced product portfolio and discuss plastics market trends and advanced processing technology with customers mainly from Vietnam and Southeast Asia.

PolyMirae plans to discuss how PolyMirae’s products can help the customers to achieve the industry’s priority themes of high physical properties & aesthetics, productivity improvement, property optimization by advanced catalyzed PP, sustainability and more.

This exhibition has been held for 18 years in Ho Chi Minh City, where about 80% of Vietnam's plastics industry is concentrated. It is Vietnam's premier event where international experts in plastics and rubber industry for the discussion of the latest trends and technologies in the plastics market.

PolyMirae will attend the world's largest international plastic and rubber industry fair "K Fair 2019" to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 16 to 23. K Fair is an exhibition held every three years in Germany, offering the latest trends in related plastics industries and opportunities to develop new businesses.

PolyMirae plans to focus on promoting its PP products developed based on LyondellBasell’s world-class technologies and discuss new business opportunity with global customers at the event.

PolyMirae has recently commercialized  Moplen RP361S and Moplen RP369S, two new grades that can offer more softness in nonwoven applications.

These products are non-phthalate and offer superior spinnability, softness and haptics, for quality improvement of hygiene and nonwoven products.

Innovation and ADTS, Associate Director, GY Ha said “PolyMirae expects these products to help its customers to gain competitive advantage, proposing more differentiated end-use products in the highly competitive hygiene market."

This new additions enables PolyMirae to further expand its product portfolio offer for nonwoven applications.
