폴리미래는 창립 25주년을 맞아 기념 행사를 개최했다. 이번 행사에는 DL케미칼과 라이온델바젤의 이사회 멤버, 전임 CEO, 관계사 주요 인사들이 참석하여 자리를 빛내주었다.

행사는 대표이사의 기념사를 시작으로 DL케미칼과 라이온델바젤의 축사가 이어졌으며, 임직원과 내빈이 함께 폴리미래의 발자취를 담은 25주년 기념 영상을 감상했다.

이번 기념 행사는 지난 25년간의 성과를 돌아보고, 앞으로 더 큰 도약을 향한 폴리미래의 비전을 함께 나누는 뜻깊은 시간이 되었다.

PolyMirae held a ceremony to mark its 25th anniversary. The event was graced by members of the boards of DL Chemical and LyondellBasell, former CEOs, and key executives from partner companies.

The program began with a commemorative address by the CEO, followed by congratulatory speeches from DL Chemical and LyondellBasell. Employees and guests then enjoyed a special video highlighting PolyMirae’s 25-year journey.

This anniversary celebration was a meaningful occasion to reflect on the company’s achievements over the past 25 years and to share PolyMirae’s vision for even greater progress in the years ahead.

폴리미래는 2025년 9월 1일 여의도에서 시청역 인근 대한서울상공회의소 건물로 본사를 이전했다.

2001년부터 24년 동안 함께한 여의도를 떠나, 창립 초기의 터전이었던 중구로 다시 돌아오며 새로운 업무 환경을 맞이하게 되었다.

On September 1, 2025, PolyMirae relocated its head office from Yeouido to the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry building near City Hall Station.

After 24 years in Yeouido since 2001, the company has returned to Jung-gu, the site of its early beginnings, embracing a new working environment.

PSM은 중대산업사고 예방을 위해 정부가 각 산업현장의 안전 시스템과 운영 수준을 평가하는 제도로, 4년마다 심사를 통해 [P/S/M+/M-] 4등급으로 나뉜 등급을 부여한다. 특히 ‘P’ 등급은 평가 대상 기업의 상위 10% 정도 만이 받을 수 있는 최상위 등급으로, 해당 기업의 안전관리 체계와 운영 성과를 높이 평가받았음을 의미한다.

이번 성과는 ‘안전 제일’을 최우선 가치로 삼고 지속적으로 안전관리 시스템을 개발·운영해 온 폴리미래 전 임직원의 노력이 반영된 결과다. 회사는 “첫째도 안전, 둘째도 안전, 셋째도 안전”이라는 원칙 아래, 강력한 안전 경영 의지를 실천하며 안전 문화를 정착시키고 있다.

이번 PSM 심사 결과는 폴리미래가 안전을 기업 운영의 핵심 가치로 삼아 글로벌 수준의 안전 경영 체계를 구축하고 있음을 다시 한번 증명한 사례로 평가된다.

PSM is a government-led evaluation system designed to prevent major industrial accidents by assessing the safety systems and operational levels of various industrial sites. The evaluation is conducted every four years and grades are assigned in four levels: [P/S/M+/M-]. Notably, the ‘P’ grade is awarded to only about the top 10% of evaluated companies, reflecting their superior safety management systems and operational performance.

This achievement is the result of the continuous efforts of all PolyMirae employees, who prioritize “Safety First” and have been consistently developing and operating advanced safety management systems. The company upholds a strong safety management commitment guided by the principle of “Safety First, Safety Second, and Safety Third,” embedding a robust safety culture throughout its organization.

The recent PSM audit results serve as further evidence that PolyMirae considers safety a core value in its business operations, demonstrating its establishment of a globally recognized safety management system.

SunAllomer는 폴리미래 직원들을 위해 Control Room, 공장 내부, 연구실 견학을 포함한 다양한 공정 현장을 견학할 수 있는 기회를 제공했으며 이를 통해 폴리미래 직원들은 해외 공장 설비와 안전 관리 우수 사례를 직접 보고 느끼는 동시에 폴리미래 현장과 비교해보는 유익한 시간을 가질 수 있었다.

이번 워크샵에서는 사전에 진행된 직원 설문조사를 통해 확인된, 직원들이 생각하는 폴리미래의 변화와 혁신을 위한 아래의 4가지 주안점을 주제로 미첼 킬린 대표이사를 비롯한 각 부문의 담당 임원 및 인사팀장이 전 직원에게 폴리미래의 현주소와 장단기 경영계획, 그리고 지속 성장을 위한 전략을 공유했다.

이번 전사 워크샵은 지난해 새롭게 수립한 폴리미래의 비전과 핵심가치를 실현하기 위한 지금까지의 진척도를 전직원이 함께 되짚어보고, 폴리미래 만의 새로운 일하는 방식의 수립을 통해 지속가능한 조직문화에 대해 고민해 보고 논의할 수 있는 뜻 깊은 기회였다.  

앞으로도 폴리미래는 “Shapping a better future”라는 새로운 비전을 실현하기 위해 직원들의 참여와 몰입을 유도함은 물론 효율적으로 일하는 방식을 수립함으로써 조직문화 개선을 위해 지속적으로 노력할 것이다.

미첼 킬린 대표이사는 이번 성과를 계기로 우리 모두가 안전과 운영 우수성에 대한 의지를 지속하기를 당부했으며, “Restart the 1st day”라는 메시지를 전하며, 우리의 다음 목표는 단순히 기록을 유지하는 것이 아닌 안전 관행을 지속적으로 개선하고 혁신하는 것이라고 강조했다.

In addition, CEO Mitchell Killeen asked staff to use this achievement as motivation to continue our commitment to safety and operational excellence. He also emphasized ‘Restart the 1st day!’, saying that our next goal is not just to maintain this record but to continue to improve and innovate in our safety practices.

또한, 김길수 사장은 폴리미래 직원들이 지금까지 보여준 탁월한 성과에 대해 감사를 표하여, 이미 입증된 성공을 계속해서 이어가야 한다고 강조하였으며, 변화하는 어려운 시장환경 속에서 지속적인 성공을 위해 몇 가지 훌륭한 조언을 해주었습니다.

김길수 사장은 최근 DL케미칼의 POE 개발 성공사례를 교토삼굴(狡兎三窟)이라는 사자성어에 비유하였고, 이는 영리한 토끼는 세 개의 굴을 판다는 것을 의미합니다. 즉, 현명하게 준비하고, 새로운 방향에 대해 열린 자세와 민첩함을 유지해야 한다는 의미입니다. 그는 DL케미칼의 이번 성공이 어려운 시장 환경에 대응해 다양한 방향과 가능성을 열어두고 전 직원의 협업과 노력으로 이루어 낸 성과라고 말했습니다. 또한, 폴리미래 임직원 들에게 모든 일의 성공을 위해서 가장 중요한 것은

1. 격물치지(格物致知): 사물의 이치를 알기 위해 끊임없이 탐구하고 지혜를 쌓아야 하며,
2. 궁즉통(窮則通): 어려운 환경에서는 변화를 통해서만 무언가를 이루어 낼 수 있으며,
3. 불광불급(不狂不及): 어떤 일에 미치지 않으면, 어떤 것도 이룰 수 없으며,
4. 협업(協業): 원만한 인간관계와 협업을 통해 모든 임직원의 지혜를 모으고 노력하는 것 이라고 말했습니다.   

또한, 김길수 사장은, “제 경험을 되짚어 보면, 이론만 알아서 되는 일은 단 한가지도 없었다.”고 말하며, 모든 일에 성공하려면, 또 성과를 만들어 내려면 모든 직원들이 끊임없이 공부하고, 변화하는 것은 물론 몰입이 중요하다고 강조했습니다.  

폴리미래 CEO인 미첼킬린은 김길수 사장에게 감사의 인사를 전하며, 폴리미래 CEO로서의 자신의 가장 큰 역할은 LyondellBasell과 DL케미칼 양쪽 주주와 끊임없이 협력하여, 폴리미래와 고객을 위한 최상의 가치를 도출하는 것이라고 말하며, 폴리미래가 이렇게 역량있고, 영감을 주는 양쪽 주주를 갖고 있는 것이 큰 행운이라고 말했습니다. 또한, 앞으로 폴리미래의 지속가능한 성장과 혁신을 위해서 양 주주의 적극적인 지원과 협력을 당부했습니다.

On June 20, PolyMirae invited Mr. Gil-Soo Kim, President of DL Chemical, a shareholder of PolyMirae, to hold a town hall meeting with PolyMirae employees on the topic of DL Chemical's POE success story and innovation in general.   PolyMirae has been inspired by what we have observed on our shared sites in Yeosu and indeed the speech of Mr. Kim has certainly inspired the PolyMirae team to continue and redouble our innovation efforts.

Mr. Kim acknowledged the exceptional track record of PolyMirae, so we should continue our proven success, and he offered some wonderful advice for our continued success in a changing and challenging market environment. 

Mr. Kim likened DL Chemical's recent success in developing POE to Chinese four-character idiom (교토삼굴, 狡兎三窟), It means that a smart rabbit digs three burrows.  It means that you prepare wisely and keep open and agile to new directions. Mr. Kim said that DL Chemical's success was achieved through the collaboration and efforts of all employees who are ever open to various directions and possibilities in response to the difficult market environment. He also told PolyMirae employees that the most important things for success in everything are;

1. 格物致知(격물치지, Constant Learning): You should constantly explore and accumulate wisdom to understand the reason of things,
2. 窮則通 (궁즉통, Constant Changes): In difficult situations, something can only be achieved through change.
3. 不狂不及 (불광불급, Constant Commitment): If you are not committed to something, you can't accomplish anything,
4. 協業 (협업, Collaboration): Collecting the wisdom of all employees through amicable relationships and collaboration. 

"Looking back on my experience, there was not a thing that I could achieve by just knowing the theory," Mr. Kim said, emphasizing that to succeed in everything, it is important for all employees to constantly study, change, and be engaged to drive the performance.

Mr. Mitchell Killeen, CEO of PolyMirae, thanked Mr. Kim and said that a key role as CEO of PolyMirae is to constantly work with both LyondellBasell and DL Chemical to derive the best outcomes for PMC and its customers.  PolyMirae is fortunate to have two such capable and inspiring shareholders and asked for the continued active support and cooperation of both for the sustainable growth and innovation of PolyMirae in the future.

오전에는 폴리미래 전직원이 모여 PSM "P" 등급 달성을 위한 안전 결의대회를 열었고, 이후 국내 최대의 안전 체험 시설인 KOSHA 여수 안전체험센터에 방문하여 다양한 체험 활동을 진행했다. 오후에는 화재 진압 및 구조, 구급 훈련을 포함한 전사적인 위기 대응 훈련이 이어졌으며, 안전에 대한 자신의 생각을 영상 형태로 제작하여 공유하는 행사인 "Safety Video Contest"도 개최되었다.

금번 Global Safety Day 및 전사 위기 대응 훈련은 우리가 왜 안전을 최우선으로 생각해야 하는지 다시금 되새기고, 이를 실천하기 위한 헌신을 다짐하는 소중한 시간이 되었으며 앞으로도 폴리미래는 안전을 최우선 가치로 모든 임직원에게 안전의식을 고취하고 안전한 작업환경을 제공하고자 최선을 다할 것이다.

In the morning, all PolyMirae employees gathered for a Safety Pledge Ceremony to reaffirm our commitment to achieving PSM “P” Grade. Following the ceremony, we visited Korea’s largest safety experience facility, the KOSHA Yeosu Safety Experience Center, to participate in hands-on safety activities. The afternoon included a company-wide emergency response drill with exercises in firefighting, rescue, and first aid, as well as a "Safety Video Contest," where employees shared their thoughts on safety in video format.

This Global Safety Day and emergency response drill offered a valuable opportunity to revisit why safety must remain our top priority and reinforced our commitment to putting safety into practice. PolyMirae will continue to place safety as a core value, inspiring all employees to uphold a strong safety mindset and providing a secure work environment.

이날 미팅에서 Allen Yu는 개인적인 한국과의 깊은 인연에 대해 소개하고, LYB의 전략과 최근 산업의 트렌드를 직원들과 공유하였습니다.

그는 아래의 LYB의 새로운 3가지 Business Strategy와 이를 실현하기 위한 LYB의 노력과 행보에 대해 자세히 소개하였습니다.

1. Grow & Upgrade the Core (Business)
2. Build a Profitable Circular & Low Carbon Solution Business
3. Set Up Performance & Culture

또한, LYB가 새로운 전략과 가치를 출하기 위해 진행했던 일련의 과정들을 소개하며, 그것이 LYB가 자신을 돌아보고 그들이 어디에 있기를 원하는지 정할 수 있는 정말 좋은 기회였다고 말했습니다. 나아가 LYB의 10년 후를 내다보았을 때 LYB가 지속 가능한 삶을 통해 더 나은 세상을 만드는 데 도움이 되는 것이 LYB의 궁극적인 목적이라고 말했습니다.

향후 시장상황과 전망에 대해서는 앞으로 몇 년은 매우 어려운 시기가 될 것이라고 말하며, 그렇지만 이러한 상황에서도 LYB는 계속해서 지속가능성에 많은 투자를 하고 있으며, 이는 자산의 탈탄소화에서 시작된다고 말했습니다. 또한 LYB의 목표는 순환형 제품의 선두주자가 되는 것이라고 말했습니다.

그는 최근 LYB가 새롭게 설립한 조인트벤처 [‘JV’]들에 대해 소개하며, LYB의 Core Business에서 JV가 차지하고 있는 중요성은 매우 크다는 것을 강조하여, PolyMirae와 UPP의 노력과 성과 및 자체적인 Value Enhancement Program[‘VEP’]를 통해 끊임없이 혁신을 노력하는 것에 감사와 존경을 표하며, 앞으로도 어려운 시장환경 속에서도 PolyMirae의 차별화 전략을 통해 계속해서 성공을 거두길 기원한다고 말했습니다. 

이날 타운홀 미팅에서 PolyMirae CEO인 Mitchell Killeen은 우리에게 기술 비즈니스의 리더이자 다양한 기술 포트폴리오를 보유한 LYB는 중요한 가치가 있다고 말하며, 서로를 더 잘 이해하고 공유하기 위한 노력이 필요하며,  많은 제한사항이 있겠지만 앞으로도 LYB의 기술 공유를 통한 차별화 전략과 기술뿐 아니라 제조 측면에서도 공유를 통해 LYB와 PolyMirae간의 협업과 시너지를 창출하기를 바란다고 말했습니다.

Additionally, Allen Yu described the series of processes LYB has undertaken to formulate its new strategy and values, emphasizing that it was a valuable opportunity for LYB to look at ourselves and find where we want to be. Looking ahead to the next 10 years for LYB, he stated that the ultimate purpose of LYB is to help to create a better world through sustainable living.

Regarding future market conditions and outlook, he mentioned that the coming years will be very challenging. However, LYB continues to invest heavily in sustainability, beginning with the decarbonization of assets. Additionally, he emphasized LYB’s goal to become a leader in circular products.

He introduced the recently established joint ventures [’JV’] by LYB, emphasized the significant role JV plays in LYB’s Core Business, expressed gratitude and respect for the efforts and achievements of PolyMirae and UPP as well as their continuous innovation through their Value Enhancement Program [‘VEP’], and wished for PolyMirae's continued success through its differentiation strategy despite challenging market conditions.

During the town hall meeting, PolyMirae CEO Mitchell Killeen emphasized that LYB, as a leader in the technology business with a diverse technology portfolio, holds significant value, and while many limitations exist, he highlighted the need for efforts to better understand and share with each other, expressing his hope for collaboration and synergy between LYB and PolyMirae through sharing not only differentiated strategies and technologies but also manufacturing aspects.

이날 워크샵에서는 ICIS의 Senior Consultant인 Mr. John Richardson가 Global Challenges and Opportunities in the South Korea Context 를 주제로 급변하는 글로벌 석유화학산업의 시장 환경하에서의 한국 기업들의 도전과 기회에 대한 주제로 발표 하였으며, ICIS Business Solution Group Consultant인 Itaru Kudose 가 Japanese Chemical companies activities toward CN2050 goals 을 주제로 일본 석유화학산업의 탈탄소(Lower-carbon) 전략의 진행 현황과 한국기업에 미칠 영향 및 시사점에 대한 주제로 발표하였습니다. 또한, 주제발표 후 폴리미래 CEO인 Mitchell Killeen과 ICIS 전문가 패널들이 참석자 들과 Panel discussion and Q&A session을 진행하였습니다.

폴리미래의 CEO 인 Mitchell Killeen은 이 날 행사에 참석한 모든 참석자에게 감사 인사를 전했으며, 폴리미래가 주요 폴리프로필렌 생산업체로서 YNCC와 SKA 등 파트너 및 프로필렌 공급업체로부터 공급받는 프로필렌에 가치를 더해 한국 산업에 핵심적인 역할을 수행하기 위해 최선을 다할 것이며 폴리미래가 많은 국내 및 수출 고객들에게 부가가치가 높은 고품질 PP 제품을 제공하는 것에 대해 자랑스럽게 생각한다고 말했습니다.
